About This Course

Welcome to Lugha Ishara!
Thank you for choosing to join us, to champion Deaf inclusion. We are offering family friendly online sign language classes at Beginners Level. The beginners level has 3 classes,namely Kifaru,Ndovu and Simba The lessons are suitable for parents, grandparents, and children. It is a family class! This is the Simba,level 3.
Our teacher is Deaf, and you will learn directly from a native signer. Learning language from a native speaker is more effective. We are looking forward to having you in class. Please join the #signlanguagechamps movement. Sign language is cool!

  • Interactive Class (must attend)
  • Noah's Ark Challenge (optional)


What You Will Learn

    In this level,you will be adding more vocabulary through more crafts work and an additional  interactive classes.

    What is an interactive class?

    There will be two interactive classes.One is complusory and the other is optional.The first interactive class,we will meet the teachers and other students a as community on a session on zoom through a link which will be provided.The goal is to host a question and answer session, get to know you more and enjoy each other.Secondly,prepare for the Noah's ark challenge.

    What is the Noah's ark Challenge?

    This is the second interactive class which is a physical meet up where we  host the  Noahs ark challenge.Sign language champs will be put into teams and build the best Noahs ark in a competition.The teams will comprise of Deaf and hearing people.

Lugha Ishara (LI) is a startup company with a mission of achieving the transformational development of Deaf children and youths. LI envisions a world of Deaf inclusion. On 8th April, 2019, Lugha Ishara won $10,000 as finalist of Women in Tech Cohort 2, under Strathmore University and Standard Chartered Bank. We are currently working in partnership with Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital and Tangaza university as key partners
